American Patchwork Quartet

April 12, 2026 | Judson's Live | 5 p.m. & 7:30 p.m.

Like a melodic melting pot, this quartet is reimagining timeless songs from America’s past through a multicultural lens. Knitting their own tapestry of classic folk songs infused with jazz, country twang, West African hypnotics and East Asian ornamentation, American Patchwork Quartet is on a mission to reclaim the immigrant soul of American roots music.

Recently making their debut at the Grand Ole Opry, this Grammy-nominated group is comprised of multi-Grammy Award-winning guitarist and vocalist Clay Ross, Falguni Shah, an eleventh-generation Hindustani classical vocalist, Yasushi Nakamura, an internationally acclaimed jazz bassist and Clarence Penn, a drumming protégée of Ellis Marsalis. Their debut album was recently nominated for “Best Folk Album” at the 67th Grammy Awards.
