STROKESTRA® is an innovative stroke rehabilitation program that drives patient-led recovery through group creative music-making workshops led by professional musicians and AdventHealth clinicians.

The Spring 2025 STROKESTRA® program will be taking place from March—May, 2025 with a two-day session of workshops each month. This program is free of charge and participants will attend either morning or afternoon workshop sessions. Please see the FAQ below for more information.


Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need any musical experience to join?

No prior musical experience is necessary. Participants will engage in various musical activities with different instruments, considering all possible stroke-related disabilities. Simply come as you are!

When does this program take place?

Sessions for this program take place from March—May, 2025 with workshops happening on the dates outlined below and a rehearsal and performance on May 8, 2025.

Session workshops for STROKESTRA® take place the following dates:
• March 3-5
• April 7-8
• May 6-8

Times of session workshops vary:

  • Morning: 10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. - For survivors who are 3-6 months post-stroke and caregivers.
  • Afternoon: 12:45 p.m.-2:45 p.m. - For survivors more than 6-months post stroke and caregivers

Do I need to attend all three session workshops?

While it is not required, we strongly encourage participants to engage in all three session workshops to experience the benfits of the full program.

Is there a cost associated with participating in this program?

No. Participation in this program is free of charge.

Are spots limited?

Yes. Please keep in mind that spaces are limited. We encourage signing up early to ensure your spot in the program.

Where does the program take place?

The program takes place at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.
